# My Spelling Bee Privacy Policy

JasemTech ("we", "us", or "our") built and operates the My Spelling Bee mobile application (the "App"). The App is designed for children aged 4 and above for spelling practice.
This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the App.
## 1. Children's Privacy
The App is intended for use by children aged 4 and above. We are committed to protecting children's privacy and comply with the following:
- **COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act):** We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The App does not require account creation, login, or any form of user registration.
- **GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation):** For users in the European Economic Area, we do not collect or process personal data from children. Ads served to children are non-personalized and comply with GDPR requirements for minors.
- **Google Play Families Policy:** The App complies with Google Play's Families policy requirements, including the use of only Families self-certified ad SDKs, child-appropriate ad content, and no collection of personally identifiable information from children.
## 2. Information We Collect
The App is designed for spelling practice. We do not directly collect any personal information from you. This includes:
- No names, email addresses, phone numbers, or other identifying information
- No user accounts or login credentials
- No location data
- No usage analytics, crash logs, or performance data sent to us
All data you enter — such as test name, date, language, and words — is stored **only locally** on your device. This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party.
## 3. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services:
### Google AdMob (Advertising)
The App displays banner advertisements through Google AdMob. AdMob is a Google Families self-certified ad SDK.
- Ads are configured as **child-directed** under COPPA and tagged for users under the age of consent under GDPR.
- Only **non-personalized ads** are served. Interest-based advertising, behavioral tracking, and remarketing are disabled.
- Ad content is restricted to a **General (G) content rating** appropriate for all ages.
- AdMob may collect limited technical data (such as device type, operating system version, and app interaction data) solely for the purpose of serving and measuring contextual ads. This data is handled by Google in accordance with their [Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy) and [Advertising Policies](https://support.google.com/admob/answer/6128543).
- No Android Advertising ID (AAID) or other persistent identifiers are used for ad personalization.
### Google ML Kit (Text Recognition)
The App offers an optional OCR (Optical Character Recognition) feature that uses Google ML Kit to scan text from images.
- All text recognition processing occurs **on-device**. Images are not uploaded to any server.
- ML Kit may download language models from Google servers to the device. No user data is transmitted during this process.
- Scanned text is only used to populate your spelling word list locally.
## 4. Camera Usage
The App requests camera access **only** when you choose to use the OCR scanning feature to capture words from a photo or image. Photos are:
- Processed on-device for text recognition only
- Never stored permanently by the App
- Never uploaded, transmitted, or shared with us or any third party
## 5. How We Use Your Information
We do not collect personal data, so there is no information for us to use, share, or sell.
The local data you save (spelling lists and word lists) is used solely by you within the App to view, edit, and practice spelling.
## 6. Data Sharing
We do not share, sell, rent, or disclose any user data to any third parties. The only third-party data transmission is through AdMob for ad serving, as described in Section 3 above.
## 7. Data Retention and Deletion
All spelling data is stored locally on your device. You can delete your data at any time by:
- Deleting individual spelling lists within the App
- Clearing the App's data through your device settings
- Uninstalling the App
## 8. Security
All network communication (ad serving) uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). Local data is stored using standard device storage mechanisms. We recommend you keep your device secure with standard practices (screen lock, OS updates, etc.).

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
